Assuming the day they went into the bator as day 0, hatch day is January 8th!
I’ll definitelt be posting and intend to film the hatch, assuming some will make it to term. Fingers crossed!
oh wow, I read the posts wrong... I am hatching on the same day. (mine are single yolks lol, 2 double yolks made it past my candling inspections last hatch and sadly both died on hatch day... only one chick developed in both eggs)

Wow that’s so cool we’re hatching on the same day!
What breed are you hatching?

Too bad yours didn’t make it :(
Maybe next time!

I had a successful hatch though 26 out of the 36 that were fertile. Still learning how to do it right.

I am hatching Silver Grey Dorkings, and Silver Grey Dorking X Red Rangers (my own version of meat birds) and Cuckoo Marans that will be 1/4 BCM in an attempt to make the eggs darker.

Wow that sounds like an awesome combo! I’m fascinated by genetics myself too. Pictures once hey hatch?

The White chick (probably Columbian pattern) is the Dorking X Red Ranger. He/She was hatched in November. The last picture was from my December Hatch almost a week ago now and you can see 5 of them and how different their chick fuzz patterns are. I have it documented in the meat bird section as I am toying around with Red Rangers crossing them with Heritage breeds and seeing the result is a worthy table bird. The link also Showcases Ayam Cemani X Red Ranger crosses. Another poster showed off his Dark Cornish X Red Ranger from last year. This is my first year Incubating and breeding so its all new to me.

Awwwww they’re so cute!
Sounds like a fascinating project! So would you create a meat bird without the dangerously fast growth of a regular broiler then?

I actually believe the Red Rangers alone are good for that. The crosses I do with the Red Rangers are out of Curiosity. After I see how they turn out I might come up with a breeding plan to make my version of a meat bird. Still have a lot to learn before I get there.
