Humidity takes a while to stabilize after making any adjustments. Don’t panic too quickly. Let it settle in again after making any change.

And for your next incubation, I’d suggest rubber shelf liner with holes/grid instead of paper towels. The paper towels are blocking the humidity from rising and and are just sucking it up. You need more circulation.

Ooooooh kk got it. I just put it there for containing the mess of when they hatch. I could just put them on the incubator floor cuz I took the tray out, but they roll on there quite a bit. Don’t have any shelf liner at the moment, so is there anything else I can use?

Yea, I get that! Lol
Is the floor wire or plastic?
I hate the rolling too, and the wire bugs me on their feet. Many people use it, so it’s not really a problem, more personal preference I just don’t like it.

If you have a dollar store nearby, they have rolls of the shelf liner for just a couple bucks? Get the kind that looks like it would provide the most air flow. They have different textures and thicknesses.
Otherwise, I’d consider removing the paper towels if you don’t have any pips yet. I think your humidity will stabilize better without them too.

Agreed 100%, humidity takes awhile because the water has to evaporate into the air for it to become humid. So when you were adding all the water it was just taking awhile for it to climb thats why it was unchanging at first and then shot up :p not a big deal at this stage in incubation!! More humidity is better than less at this point! Spikes are better than drops! I would shoot for 65%, it gives you wiggle room to drop a little each time you open the incubator. The shells themselves take a little while to adjust humidity levels as well since the shell walls “breathe” but not very fast since theyre somewhat thick.

I would remove like one paper towel rectangle and put the eggs on the others. This way air can move more freely but youre not sacrificing the convenience of papertowels.

Also this is just me but i would make a safe hole in the shell of #5. Those watermarks come from movement against the membrane which worries me that he is malpositioned.:hmm

It’s that non-slip stuff for pots and pans right? Like this rubbery stuff that seems to be little dots connected with holes in between? I think they have that at the one in town so I’ll have a look!

He hasn’t popped yet though, is it safe to make a hole? It won’t do much until he punctures the membrane right? It’s day 34 right now so I’m expecting pips today :fl

Yep! That stuff.
Might even check your kitchen cabinets first. :D I use it under my drinking glasses. You can wash in hot water, even a drop of Dawn or bleach, rinse thoroughly, and dry as much as possible.

Ditto on waiting for humidity, and temps, to stabilize after any change.
I think it would be safe to crank the room humidity up to say 70% to buffer opening the bator. Tho humidity is different at different temps....so it can be hard to compare.
