@WVduckchick I think 5 is dead :( :( :(

There’s fluid in there that has clearly broken into the air cell and it moves when I shift the egg around :(
I took a video that I’m trying to upload but here are some pics. I think that might have been the movement I thought I saw...View attachment 1634693View attachment 1634694View attachment 1634695
I think that looks quite a ways dead. are you willing to make a hole large enough to see through?
I'm thinking the unfertilized yolk poisoned the embryo.

If its on the air cell you dont need to worry so much about doing something wrong, just making a tiny hole! I think not doing it is more risky than the chance of you doing something wrong. As long as you dont stab the duckling you’re pretty safe.

I know that previously i said dont move them, but now im thinking maybe you should take them with you. I think youd be worried sick sitting at their house twiddling your fingers!

Just add a tiny bit more water. 45% is not ideal, to give you an idea of how high is better than low, it would be better and safer if it were on the high end, like 75%

Wouldn’t poisoning have happened sooner though? This makes me sad :(

Yeah I guess I’ll poke a hole later. Have to get my stuff together to leave right now. Ugh this sucks... I thought 5 was a good one :(

it doesnt look promising at all.
You could make a hole large enough to get a q-tip through, then rub some coconut oil on the membrane so you can see through it, you would be able to tell if it was still viable if it responded to touch or if it was clearly all soupy and gross inside.

Added another water bowl just now so I’m hoping that’ll help!

I really wanna bring them but I’m also wondering how I’ll even go about it cuz they’d have to go in the car for 20 minutes, and both my house and their house is on a dirt road so not exactly a smooth ride :(
Also, how would I keep humidity up? I was thinking I’d set up my second bator there and let it warm up, then transport them in the other while securing them with towels and a sponge inside so they hopefully won’t lose moisture and won’t get jarred too much. I’ll hsve to see if I even have to stay though because I’d she doesn’t get the emergency passport today they can’t lesve so I won’t have to stay

Looking at the video it seems pretty gross and soupy.... this makes me sad :(

Im not sure... maybe putting them in an egg carton inside the bator to keep them still? Then wrapping the whole incubator in a sleeping bag or banket or one of those insulated pizza box warmer bag thingys? Then when you get there just put them back in their proper positions? You could put sponges inside to not worry about water spilling then just replace the bowls when you get there

How long would you be able to spend at your house checking on them between visits?
