Duck Incubation time.. (first timers)

Pics

It's hard to see (always hard to get good pictures of shiny egg yolks, lol). Here are some pictures you can compare yours to, and maybe crack another egg to confirm.

Fertile:

Not fertile:

Or, just put them in your incubator and see what happens. Worst case, they don't develop and no harm is done. Best case, they do develop and you hatch some ducklings :)

When i flipped it, looked like a bullseye like your first picture. So i think i will put them in the incubator. Like you said worst case nothing happens.. Best case get some hatchlings. If we dont have any veins in 10 days I will wait till i see the other two females lay.

Sounds like a good plan :) Let us know how it goes!

Have you thought about segregating the Pekin and your drake by their pool to see if it will entice him to mate with her? Fresh water in their pool is always good for mating at my house. Lol.

I can’t exactly remember your set up so I’m not sure how doable that is.

here are some photos i just took of set up outside. The pool is on the same side as the house but where the house is at the back of the yard, the pool is up by the bushes they use for shade by the house itself.. It is also where i have a hose on other side of fence for closest water source. The back house is the one i bought online, which i found out was cheaply made as you can see and small.. I closed it off from he main house with mesh, so the older ducks can see any juveniles, or if i need to separate. I do have a waterer not in pictures in case they decide to venture further around the yard. They hardly use it. Please dont mind my finger in the way lol. @CayugaJana

lol. I too bought one of the prefabs online thinking I was doing the right thing. It’s way too small and they almost never use it.

I hope you have good luck incubating! Hatching seems so exciting although I’ve never done it!

So had 13 duck eggs for this batch, cracked opened two to see if they were fertilized.. some believed not, one looked like a bullseye. Left 11 eggs to incubate, well i just did a candle on day 6.. and we have 3 with veins in them.. Now to try and get this all right, not sure about air cells and all, so will have to figure out the humidity levels and all to lower or higher based upon them. These pictures are of two of the eggs with veins at different angles. The third looked similar. @casportpony @chickens really @Miss Lydia

That's great...Are they being incubated on their side?..Do you turn them three times a day?
