Hey James,
If nothing else, we can start a Delaware swap or cull sale next spring!!!! There seems to be a lot of Delaware people in this general area.

Cyn, I am so sorry about the little ones not making it, but I am VERY content with my count. The brooder is ready and waiting!!!!
By the way, was Isaac's father's name Abraham by any chance? Should I be planning on calling the roo I keep Jacob?
I do hope the last orp makes it, too!!!

LOL, no Isaac's father's name was George! I had planned to name Isaac "Israel" instead, so one day, I may give a son of his that name. (note: Jacob, maybe, but no Jake, however! I culled my first Del cockerel, Jake. Bad boy. Then, someone else who got a BR cockerel from my flock named him Jake and he turned nasty. The name Jake must have a dark cloud hanging over it, LOL)

One of the two Dels pipped! Have heard cheeping from all three, so they're still viable.

Good heavens! I will remember that! And actually, my DH is a Jacob and so is his oldest son, so maybe I need to rethink this. . .Essau? Would that be bad karma? I always figured he must have been a big handsome studly type, just not too brainy!

YAY LITTLE DEL BABIES!!! BREAK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Orp is LOUD! She/he is having a bit of trouble. Smoky's eggs are always so long and narrow, as Kathy has seen. And the way they clunk in the turner, it's a wonder they ever hatch. This baby looks blue or splash, but can't see into the egg well enough to tell-big pip, but boy, it really sounds like it's saying, "Somebody, get me out of here!".
