Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

So I went into the doctor....not a UTI or bladder infection. I had some high ketone levels (she said I needed to drink more water) and I've lost another 1/2lb. I did get to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was at 160 today. She didn't really offer any advice other than to drink more water and if it doesn't go away they I should come back so they can do "swabs" which is never a pleasant thing and maybe an ultrasound. I wonder if my tipped uterus is starting to tip back the correct way?

On another note, I'm starting to show a little...but I mostly look like a beer gut or wormy, LOL

I wish I could have kept my big secret for a while longer but I had to fill people in at work due to hazards to the baby. My family still does not know, which is a source of guilt. It is my dad's birthday on Friday, thinking about wrapping up something cute and Grandpa-ish for him to open

I wanted to wait before telling our family and friends, but my DH was busting at the seams. He can not keep a secret. He has diarrhea of the mouth, if you don't want it known, dont tell him!!!! LOL So everyone was informed by the end of the day that I pee'd on a stick...

Same here, but I managed to get hubby to wait a full 16 hours before he Burst and told the family.... But he was hinting the whole time we were around my family and telling random people when we were out shopping...

Today I had the PLEASURE of true round ligament pain for about an hour straight

. I have always had very mild version of this with my period because of endometriosis, but this was UNREAL!!! Hard to breath, let alone move! I was at work... very difficult to "lay still" like all of the advice out there says. Even though it was largely horrible, I took it as a positive sign of uterine growth

I don't think that sounds stupid at all. I stopped working with my chickens once I found out I was preggers as far as cleaning out the coop and nasty things like that cuz of the fumes. I don't know if it would hurt the baby or not but better safe than sorry. My DH was good enough to take over that for me until I have the baby. I only collect the eggs and give feed to them and try not to stay in the coop for very long at all.

I mentioned the chickens to my OB at my 8 week appt and he said there shouldn't be any issues handling chickens. He has a little flock of his own apparently; BOs.

Thats great to know! I really enjoy taking care of mine, its kinda my getaway when the baby is asleep and the DH is at work, its my me-time.

Thanks everyone! Congrats to all of you as well!! Its great to hear that there are a few of us due at the same time. Now when we start having babies the rest of us pregger folk will start getting impatient and jealous!

well, by now you guys probably know I dont listen to a lot of precautions that people love to dole out. I love spending every moment I can with my chickens, so I do all the feeding and handling and egg collecting. I am sure to wash my hands (esp since they were overdue for deworming and I actually found worms on the poop board). And now that I have dewormed them I am not eating the eggs like I would have if not preggers. A little wazine never hurt me, but idk about my little shane so this is 1 time I am actually not eating eggs due to deworming.

My DH doesn't want me to lift anything heavy so I constantly have to be on his case about getting feed and corn. how annoying! I have corn in my trunk right now that I would have liked to have this morning! and I have my friends son cleaning out the coop cause that is hard and getting harder. No one does as good a job as me though

I just started noticing that I have to pee all the time, I can tell when he is moving and bouncing on my bladder. If I just wait for him to give a rest then I dont have to pee, but sure is annoying! I hate feeling like I am gonna pee my pants and then barely anything comes out.

hey - is it may yet? I would settle for april! I am anxious to have him already and am hoping I go early, like maybe easter?

I hope the warm weather comes soon, even just 40 degrees. I will have to buy new long johns next winter cause I have stretched all mine out! and boy am I sick of dressing in layers. They just dont stay where they belong!
