Yay!!!!

But waiting for the first appointment is going to be the longest 2 1/2 weeks of your life. Or it was for me. I almost couldn't stand it!!

me too! when they said see you in 2 weeks I thought, that is so long from now! and now I am getting anxious since I start seeing her every 2 weeks...gettin close!

No kidding!! I had to wait 6 (!!!) weeks until my first appointment because I was going out of town when they wanted to schedule the first one - didn't get in until I was almost 10 weeks. THEN they had the audacity to schedule the next one 5 weeks later! I'm on a 4 week schedule now and they're coming up MUCH quicker than before. Can't wait until I'm 28 weeks and get every two weeks - that really seems to make the time pass faster.

I'm on every 2 weeks now, and soon will got to every week! Boy is that crazy!!!

I'm 31 weeks today, but two weeks ago at my dr appt my belly measured larger than it should have -- so, at today's appt I had a sonogram that show the baby measures to be 32 weeks & 5 days...almost two weeks ahead of where she should be. She's estimated to weigh 4lb 7oz today. Since I have nine weeks to go, if she gains the expected 1/2 lb per week, she'll weigh almost NINE pounds if I make it to term! I've never had such a big baby!

She is also making breathing motions already -- dr said fetuses normally don't start that till 36 weeks, so it's a good sign she'll be super healthy! He used the word "prodigy" to describe her ... we sure hope so!

Second appointment went great! The doctor I met was lovely, he scheduled me for an ultrasound next week

During my first appointment I was told that they only do an ultrasound at 18 weeks, but this doctor said that in my situation he would gladly do one. He said the medical field takes miscarriages lightly because they are so common, but for me an ultrasound would be peace of mind. No argument there! AND I was able to schedule it when DH is off work...

That's really great krote! I was like you (if I remember your postings correctly). I had been pregnant and miscarried (at 7 1/2 weeks) and then within the next month was pregnant again with our second. It was a very healthy pregnancy with a great labor and delivery. Now my second is a cute n' sassy three year old. My midwives were great. They ordered up an ultrasound for the 8 week mark. It was very nice to see my little tadpole in there with a nice and healthy heartbeat. Best wishes to you! Sounds like you have a caring doctor, which is priceless!

Hey guys, just thought I'd toss this out here- If you google 'fetal doppler rentals', you can rent a DR quality, fetal heart beat doppler to use at home! I did it with my 4th baby since I had had a loss previously. It was very re-assuring to be able to hear my babys heart beat anytime I wanted to.

Most sites say you need a DR's prescription, but you dont, you can order it anyways (they want you to send the DR.'s ok AFTER you get the doppler). Most places will send it to you with return postage already paid, and you rent it month to month, so no long term commitment. Its not toooo pricey either, depending on the model. Some just let you hear the sound, some show the heart rate as well, and some let you record it and put it on the internet for your friends and family to hear!

Let me know if anyone gets one! I think I am going to get one soon- it just makes me feel better. One thing though- you wont be able to hear the heart beat before a certain point, so dont freak out if you get one at 6 weeks and cant hear the heartbeat, the baby is to small at that point.

How awesome is that?!! Wish I had known about that with my first baby. I worried every second of the day and night. This time I have been much more relaxed but still would have been nice to have. I am going to have my baby in 27 days so guess I will not get one this time.
