Favorite Goose Breed

First, @chrissynemetz and @KDOGG331 ...you need geese!! Your heart is not completely full until you have one of these clowns to love!

My vote is for Pomeranian! BB goose is very calm, quiet, and submissive. Not the usual adjectives used for geese. I've been quite pleased with how she's always fit in with my small flock. Not to mention the coloring can't be beat! And they come in buff! :D

I may have said Cotton Patch, because I'm equally in love with them, but breeding season is starting to rear its ugly head so, ask me again in a couple months.

I loved my Buff and love my Toulouse. Still have my Toulouse female. I rehomed my Buff female and Toulouse gander because once I had 4 they became a gang of thugs and could not be trusted among the rest of the birds and they were the youngest. No one would want my Embden gander not even for eating!! So I kept my 2 oldest. And found homes for their kids. Buff are awesome.

I first fell in love with Geese when I met my girlfriend in York; The river Ouse runs through the city and they have a large population of greylags there.
Because it's a very a touristy city I think the Greylags there are used to people and they're very friendly and curious so they'll eat out of your hand for example - So i'd have to say Greylags are my favourite breed but I will be getting a pair of my own toulouse in spring next year so my opinion could change.

There was also a small population of Canada Geese on the river too and i've spotted them elsewhere before but in my experience they seem to be somewhat more agressive than Greylags are and i'm not so keen on them.

We started out keeping geese after being given some Pomeranian's but they soon ended up in pot after constantly attacking our chickens, we decided to give them another go and exactly the same thing happened. Last year we hatched some Toulouse Geese then a neighbour gave us a couple of his Pomeranian goslings, again nothing but problems from the Pomeranian's so they also went in the freezer but the Toulouse, really friendly, good with all the other birds and animals, calm, talkative and they look good, hoping to have them breeding next year to increase their numbers, so the Toulouse gets my vote though I will add my partner would prefer to replace them with more Muscovy ducks in fact she would probably replace me with one given the opportunity!!:D

I run a mixed flock out of my large shed so getting along with the chickens and muscovy is important to me. Mine mostly behave themselves, but the other birds do get out of their way if they are coming.

@Miss Lydia I hope not to end up with a gang of thugs, I already have that with my turkeys. If necessary I can confine the geese to just the goat side of the shed. Eventually I hope to have the geese replace my goats as they are getting to be too much for me these days.

Canadian geese are scary birds, especially when nesting.
