Omg, one of the chicks just died. I just heard sudden frantic peeping and looked, and it was on its back. Then it stumbled around the cage and lost energy until it began gasping and then passed.

It was the smallest, and I think the one born a day later than the rest. Sudden heart failure in a weak chick? None of the other chicks have been aggressive enough to hurt it that I've seen.

Sorry to hear, sometimes they just don't make it. Hatching chicks is fun but it's sad losing any.

I had two hatch yesterday! Hopefully the other one hatches here in the next few days, tomorrow is the “official” hatch day. One chick looks like a full Barred Rock and the other is an EE with feathered legs?! It must come from the momma lol

I locked down my two incubators this morning...now for the wait. That is the worst part. Now to just hear those first peeps....Agh!!!

had to put one of Monday's hatchlings down due to leg issues. Tried to fix the leg but was not staying and I do not have the time for it.
