Thanks for trying, @WVduckchick.

@Miss Lydia I hope you’re feeling better! Thank you for sending this link, I’m going to see if there’s anywhere I can buy it locally. I saw this mentioned in several articles I read last night, too.

She somehow made it through the night but she is not doing well. Labored breathing, won’t stand up, won’t drink. It’s breaking my heart.

Thanks, @Miss Lydia.

Too late for a vet now, as I contemplated taking her to the avian vet a few cities away she had what looked like a mild seizure. I picked her up from being rolled over and she passed away in my arms. She had a few bubbles come from her nares and some fluid that looked like bile come from her bill. I’m not sure if it was pneumonia or the other infection I read about.

I’m so thankful we got the littles on Monday, the bigger black duck was very confused when I didn’t put the sick one back in with them, I’m sure his heart would have broken if he had been alone.

Thank you to everyone who offered advice and suggestions. Just being here for my little flock was such a gift.

Appreciate you all.

:love

Thanks @Lil Drake40 :hugs

I had to leave for work shortly after everything happened. When I checked on them before I left, they were all together with the remaining Big looking a bit confused. He (I’m assuming) kept standing up to look outside the brooder.

I wasn’t sure if I should let the big see the other after it passed, I didn’t know if it would recognize what had happened or if it was better to take her straight to the garden ...

Just trying to picture those adorable littles following him around so that I can focus on the positive of still having our three (and such a fun three weeks up until all of this).
