It was a heck of a lot better today. Thanks lovelyNot sure I got all that
But do so hope your day tomorrow is better.
Please keep posting on what is going on. Here or your thread. I follow yours and I am fascinated to learn how this goes.My original flock became a cohesive tribe as they all grew up together and were together for over a year. They were all hens, and some of them had “best friends”, but they were all pretty tight.
I only have two of my original hens left, and at present there are 14 newcomers.
And two of these are roosters.
The hens are forming little groups of three and four. The roosters are just out there.
I’m waiting to see how it all turns out.
I've sent you a message lovelyI know we said poor breeding - but Lulu is a 'fancy' chicken - she is not bred to lay loads of eggs, she is bred to look devastatingly gorgeous.
So yes, she may have a genetic issue, but this is not a production breeding problem.
Waiting for updates hereI think what I will do is call the lab in the morning before driving down there - it is an hour's drive away and I have some commitments first thing but I can call before those start.
Hopefully I can get someone who can advise what to test for. And I will definitely include the feed.
Perfectly said. I do hope she pulls through and you get to the bottom of this - it is NOT your wonderful care-taking!

I'm so sad for you. It's just heart breakingAnd then there were three. She is gone.
I will probably call the state lab in the morning but will sleep on it.
Hug your chickens everyone, they are precious little souls and some of them are only with us for a short while.

Like that wormer I used. It's not our fault lovely. I would just like too make whoever produced it eat the lot.No. Well yes and no.
- Bella clearly had respiratory issues and had a positive test for Infectious laryngotracheitis
- Lulu and the Roadrunners were quite similar in that one minute they were fine and then in the course of a few hours were not fine.
The only localizing symptoms in that lot are Lulu's anema and liver function tests, and both Dotty and Minnie (as well as Maggie) had diarrhea for a long time.
Minnie tested negative for Bella's virus.
The feed of course unites them all.
I used a syringe. Measured the amount then in the beak it went. After a fight, Tina cannot be accused of being easyI forgot to ask how to administer the cream?
