She has not and the very same thought occurred to me as I was watching her this morning. I believe that her molt may be coming soon. She was irritated all morning and prior to now she had been rather calm since the new ones started mixing in. She came over and yelled at me for a while this morning and her feathers are tattered.

Tattered feathers

Storm's feathers are looking like that. She's still attacking the young roos, so I'm hopingthat continues for a while so they get well schooled.

Ok we have several people on here who are wonderful with names. I need your help. I want to give a special name to the chick I had to help last night. I cannot use Lucky as that is what dad calls Momma hen half the time. I already used Clover who was the first chick me and mom assisted. So give me something in the "lucky" theme.
Horseshoe. Leprechaun. Seven. Shamrock. Blarney. Charm. Septimus. Fortune/Fortuna. Bless. Beattitude. Knock. Wood. Rabbit. Auspicious.wish. Candle. Wishbone. Penny. Fairy/Faerie.

That is very beautiful. Once we get my walls redone I would love to do something similar. I know for sure I want 3 pictures hung up. I want 10 x 13 on canvas printed out of my favorite Drumstick picture. On either side I want a slightly smaller picture of Branch and Toothless.
That will be very special.

Polish are great chickens, in general. I'm so glad you got one.
Glad you were an enabler to me :)

He is looking at me right now - I am in the barn office on my laptop. So nice to have my office internet back! I can work on my job hunt, and the chickies keep me company - right Sophia?? (looking for treats hahaha)

Ok. Here we go. I hope I don't repeat any.

Horseshoe, Shooey for short
Luciano, as in Lucky Luciano call them "looch" for short
Fortunato, "Lucky" in italian
Prospero
Felicia a derivative of felicitous
Charm
Seven
Seven of Two (nod to Star Trek)
Penny
Goldie, as in "you're golden"

Morgan, after Aussie Bill Morgan.

Australian Bill Morgan was tragically crushed when his car met with a truck in an accident. Dead for more than 14 minutes, he somehow managed to not only survive, but also came away from 12 days of coma, even after his family removed the life support. Crazy? That’s not the end of it. To celebrate the new life that was granted to him, he bought a ‘Scratch It’ card and won a $27,000 car! To document his incredible story, a local news channel asked him to re-enact the winning moment by scratching another, only for him to win $250,000 again during the live reenactment!

I am happy to report that when I went to check on Momma and the chicks that there were 2 heads sticking out from under her to greet me. Now that it is dried and fluffed up it also looks a bit like Squirrel did as a baby. I went ahead and removed the dud egg so now we wait for her to decide when to bring them out. Both chicks got their daddy Bubba's feathered feet and the first chick is bigger so it will be easy to tell them apart. As soon as she brings them out from under the house I will get pictures of them.
Oh My Gosh :) :) So eggstatic! I was wondering - checked this morning.... didn't see anything so was worried - tickled PINK (YES PINK - IT WILL BE A PINK GIRL!)

OK so in Newfoundland: Yarry - "rising early, alert"
Sounds like this wee chickie is very alert and had an early start :)

Any name will be an awesome one :) I can't wait to see photos!!

Congratulations:love

I would like to add 1 to @BY Bob 's list. 'Shamrock', or shammy for short. Irish for young clover. Or, if it is a hen, 'Shammie' :D

It has become very clear that Momma is not bringing the chicks out today. That is fine, I'll just come under the floor again this time armed with a headlamp and get my pictures. It is also clear now that I've stared at them both they are easily distinguishable. The first chick has more brown hues and the 2nd "lucky" chick is blacker and smaller.

I'm also loving all the suggested names. But, after getting a closer look at them and seeing how one is a chocolatey brown I'm tempted to call them Kit and Kat.
