You really need to break her....or buy a chick or two and pop it under her. She needs to get up and get moving around. Plus, they nearly always molt after being broody (rI suspect to replace the chest feathers they plucked for the nest/to get their skin against the eggs. Want her molting soon....not in nov. when it is cold.
I would love to pop chicks under them but not an option for me at the moment. And of course I have so many broodies all the time ! I would be over run with chickens hahahaha ❤️

I'm not seeing any pointy/drapey saddle feathers, which would indicate a male...so that is a good thing. I can't make out the hackle feather ends...are they pointy or rounded? Guess you may just have to wait a bit longer. I'm hoping she is indeed a female......I'm a piou-piou fan! :love :love
It's hard to tell if they are pointed or round. When I compare to Gaston they look sort of similar but they also look similar to Merle 😁. I'll just have to wait for her tail feathers to come out!
I thought you can usually eat the fruits of night shade family.
On the other hand, birds aren't mammals and can eat lots that we cant. This particular night shade is one of the least toxic and according to wiki "
The poison in this species is believed to be solanine.[17] The alkaloids, solanine (from unripe fruits), solasodine (from flowers) and beta-solamarine (from roots) have been found to inhibit the growth of E. coli and S. aureus.[18] Solanine and solasodine extracted from Solanum dulcamara showed antidermatophytic activity against Chrysosporium indicum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and T. simil, thus it may cure ringworm.[19]

The stems are approved by the German Commission E for external use as supportive therapy in chronic eczema.[20]"
There's a lot of conflicting information regarding the degree of toxicity of solanin. Yes, we eat eggplants, potatoes, and raw tomatoes so obviously we can tolerate some solanin even when it's raw! Here we're told that green tomatoes are extremely poisonous and on this thread I'm learning that some of you americans from the south actually eat them fried 😁. I certainly don't have enough of biological knowledge to have an opinion. I do know that I've had a number of plants considered toxic to chickens accessible to them and they have never eaten enough to be ill. I also said elsewhere that we fed our ex-batts huge amounts of mashed potatoes daily their first winter here, as this was how my partner's grandma used to feed her chicken, and if it harmed them we never saw it.
Im back. Yes I passed out and fell and hit my head so hard my hubby heard a loud thud and I woke with a headache. Had to take some aspirin to get rid of it. (yay spell check)
I saw that you mentioned taking an appointment with your doctor for the concussion and I think you did well. I would also suggest checking with your psychiatrist regarding the latuda. If this is a side effect it means you should either not stay on your own, or have the means to get help fast, while it lasts- there may be an adjustment period. I hope you will feel all right today 💚.

Morning Manue has it cooled off any over there?

I drag her off that nest a few times a day, and she does get off of it herself. She will spend about an hour fluffing about in the dirt, grazing, sunbathing…. Then run back and go in the nest 😁

I have my silkie fluffy doing that also. I drag her off the nest too. She has been picking fights with her sisters and the other day she picked a fight with my pullet Rose!!!

She will run around a bit fluff a bit eat drink. Then head back to the nest. Crazy gals!
An hour off doesn't = a normal chicken day. It is good she eats, baths, drinks, etc....but it does make me worry for her being on the nest so long (broody so long)...it is 7 1/2 weeks now....plus, again, the molting issue. It really makes me worried for her.

Maybe @BY Bob can allay my fears?????? I"ll have another question for him that has me bothered, but need to check on ruckus outside - post later...

Here is my entire crew: For those that followed my link for breed and gender some of these will be a repeat my apologies. These are the best pics from the “photo shoot” :) Some of you may also notice my kids overruled naming of them so my bakers dozen are named after cookies. I could be wrong on the breeds they are best guesses.

Good morning Valarie ❤️ How are you feeling this morning? How’s the head ?

I love those chicks 💕
I took a 2nd dose last night and I slept until a few minutes ago. Chickens gave me the angry eye for being late feeding them but I got everyone done. My head is fine and I feel rested and not sore or dizzy. I feel good this morning.
