Inky is officially broody again for the third time this year. The eggs she's sitting on is no longer fertile.

--First time: May 7th. Lasted 2 weeks.
--Second time: July 1st. Lasted 29 days. After she gave up, she started molting, then the whole being bullied drama. We've probably had peace for only a month. Currently she is even quite high on the pecking order. I guess she decided she is fit again, so she is going for a
--Third time: Sep 29th.

Poor baby. This is broody Inky in May.

Peanut the Ameraucana is adorable and does not get to many photos taken of her because she is more on the elusive side but I was determined to get some photos of her today! She is small in stature but she is tough and takes no crap from the other flock members. Also fluffy cheeks are just cute.

New straw in the coop. Food and water full. Areas where water might come in from Ian will do when hubby gets home. But the girls will be nice and snug all weekend to ride out the storm.

I had to go to town today (I didn’t bring Jaffar) but I was shocked to see just how many stupid people go to my local Walmart. I literally had to hide behind my shopping cart, or get hit by the others. (It’s a hurricane of shopping carts, and I couldn’t handle it for very long. I could have taken pics, but I didn’t!

Théo's been in a terrible mood all day and he's giving hell to the younger chickens. All I hear is squeaks and honks.

I've said it many times, and so have other members on this thread. Branch reminds me of a person in a gorilla suit. Truthfully its not really their looks that have me hooked, it is their personalities and attitudes. I think silkies are the puppy dogs of the chicken world, and their feathers make them look like furry little dogs with beaks. I have grown to appreciate their looks and love it now, but for a while even though I fell for their personalities I did think they looked weird.

They are getting soooo big! Soon they will lose their peeps and start to get their big kids' voices.
