Well I finally was. Able to get to Canadian Tire (hardware store for those unfamiliar), and picked up an electronic rat killer.

Of course instructions were not 100percent as usual these days.

Here are some pics of it, I put a small gob of peanut butter in the bait cup. I will put it out tonight once everyone is in their proper stalls/hen house and see what I can catch!

Awesome! Let us know how it goes! I have a different brand of electronic rat trap and it’s awesome! It was gifted to me by my neighbor and lives in the garage. I have put it in the run on the rare occasion, but I don’t want to run the risk of accidentally leaving it out where the chickens can get hurt or killed by it.

Oh, goodness. That’s a pretty hard molt on Dorothy. My Minnie Minnie is molting about just like that. I’ll try to get photos this weekend.

Can I just make a statement to the newer members? I am usually a really active member on this thread. I’ve just been super busy and have not been on BYC very much. I’m so glad you have joined us on this lovely community thread and apologize for not doing proper introductions.

I hope anyone in Florida out there is safe, and had minimal destruction. And those in the path of the now again hurricane as it hits the eastern coast - 'buckle up' make sure you have secured everything, stocked up on food & water - for yourself & your chooks (and other pets.) Here's for you all. Love you & you are definitely in my thoughts!

Thank you. I cleared up the yard today so things don't go fly. Tonight is going to be normal rainy, I believe. Tomorrow we are ready to take chickens inside garage if necessary.

The rest are safely inside the coop. I’m going to try to make phone calls to Florida now. I have room, if my family wants a place to stay temporarily.

Jaffar is just like a child! “Daddy, I’m lonely and scared tonight. Can I sleep with you, please?” I have him in my room now. I set his alarm for 05:30. I’m off to the airport tomorrow. This little rooster buddy is no problem. He doesn’t even poop in the house.
