I got a chicken snake out of the coop this morning. I got snake bit twice In the process, but I managed to get it out it bit one of my leghorns on it's leg. And it was squirming all around my Rhode Island Red Hailey. I had no Idea how long it had been out there before I came out and If it bit my other hens. I wish I had some photos for you of the beast, It was about 6 ft long. My chickens are all doing fine. I am as well. This is not the only time I've been snake bit, but I am glad this one is non-venomous. I've gotten chicken snakes out of friends coops before, this is just one of the few snakes I will get out with my own hands, but My chickens are safe! For now...........
Keep a close watch on the bites. Snakes carry some different bacteria in their mouths and bites from them can get infected with some nasty things.

I was feeling slightly awkward and sad taking tuefer today pictures with all the cruel losses of these last days. I like @rural mouse renaming- I'll think of it as friendship Tuesday.
( Although I don't know if the bond between my chickens should be called friendship, or kinship, or pecking order 🙄.)

Great photos! 🥰

Rosie had a follow-up this morning with her orthopedic surgeon. Finally, one week shy of 3 months since her accident she got the news she was desperate for. As long as she uses the saddle, and stays at a walk until her December appointment she is cleared to ride. This is a huge relief as for the past month she has been hounding me on wanting to get back on Russ. Many times resulting in both of us near or in tears. She wanted to get on him the minute we got home, I'm making her wait until her papaw gets home. They can trail ride together this evening. That way he can keep a eye on her and ensure she stays at a walk. We all know teenagers, I think her hearing shut down the second the doctor told her she could ride again.
This is great news! I'm so glad she wants to get back up. Good for her!

She's looking really good!
Thank you 🤗

There was only one corn and Tina was hogging it all then princess chased her off but Tina is still managing a few pecks. (She's a greedy little thing)

You may think me cruel but I'm pleased princess is determined too get her fill she's been losing out big time but corn and her share of the chicken, she's not allowing that too be stolen at all
