Happiness is a Barred Rock, laying down on my chest, being petted and she’s purring and her eyes are closed.

Best to keep it that way!
Those are some beautiful feathers.Wow 77F that’s glorious! It’s 36F (2C) here and wet flurries brrrr! When o fed the chickies this morning they were non too happy with me opening the hen house door letting the cold air in hahaha- whimps!
I told them not to worry, it was going to be awesome starting the weekend, I am taking vacation next week so it darn well better be nice - seeing as how my mngr has nixed my vacation I wanted to take during the summer (seems I am too important to take vacation….)
(How much is that doggie in the window, the one with the waggedy tail… substituting the Johnny Paycheque song with this one…)
Whining tax
Doesn’t Penelope have an odd feather pattern?

Thanks for asking @ManueB. I am afraid Maggie is not doing well at all.
I was sure she would die during the night and I hardly slept at all I was so upset.
But she is still with us. Just.
She is spending most of her time isolating herself in her nest box. She came out for a couple of hours this morning but has now gone back in.
She will eat fresh corn and blueberries and will chat to me while she eats (I serve them to her in her bed). But it looks like she is getting close to the end of the road.
I am so very sorry to hear this. It has been a rough year for you for certain. Thanks for asking @ManueB. I am afraid Maggie is not doing well at all.

So well said, @ManueB,Fresh corn and blueberries and some chatter in bed seem like a nice end of the road for a dear old lady. But if it is to be, it's another good-bye too soon for you.
Well, she certainly isn't getting FLUFFY about it!There’s no reason to get all puffy about it!![]()
It was just an ordinary brick. If you got a fire brick, you could heat it to a higher temp, but you don't want to heat it too high, as the cardboard only insulates so much, and you don't want it too hot for the chicken's feet, nor so hot it might start a fire.Excellent
It would be clearer than mud to anyone but me. What is this brick made of? Is it just a fire brick?
I bought an old foot warmer bottle that wasn't cheap and it was cold within two hours.![]()
I do the same thing anything that can be turned into chicken stuff I save.I have all kinds of junk I have saved for coop enhancement. It does cause hoarding and Mrs BY Bob has pointed it out more than once.
