Hello everyone! Been gone in hospital (planned surgery), everything okay, just been very out of it and not able to keep up here. I am so far behind, I hope everyone is all right and safe!

I can't get into the coop or close to the Buckeyes for some time still. But the run goes right along our driveway and I can go out there and talk to them and take a few pictures! The Arlo coop & run cams are working well, but I don't have an SD card yet to download pics or film to them & haven't figured out if there's storage on the cloud I can download.
Everybody today. Everyone is molting, and poor Popcorn has it the worst right now, but is not too naked. That's her in the back. They've just gone on an observational alert.

Amazing. The first time mine saw a pumpkin they ran screaming to get as far away from it as possible! And that one was already smashed.
They changed their minds about the desirability of pumpkin a few hours later but their first reaction was sheer terror!

Think I will try pumpkin for mine also - they like squash.

Since pumpkins went on sale today @ rural king but still were not rotten I got my chickens their first pumpkin. Decided to go with letting them try their beaks at chicken pumpkin carving just because why not!

They love it I upped the anti and put some black soldier fly grubs in it for the evening. I will post an update on the poor pumpkin lol

Edit: @Ponypoor notice your fears were not unfounded they did indeed go for the eyes first!

Hahaha yep I was just thinking what they would attack first when I give them a pumpkin - nose? Eyes? Mouth?….

It can be a little confusing trying to stay current in this thread while also back-reading it. I forget which part I am reading. Trying not to reply to post that are several years old.

I am on page 391. It’s taking forever with limited time to read each day. But I am loving everyone’s stories.

Worth the time. I focused on the beginning, working my way up to "now".
