That makes a lot of sense.
Cannelle seems to be having all kind of issue while in the worse of her molt - a stuck egg, a hoarse throat, liquid florescent green poop and a nail hurting.
I don't know what is the main cause and what are just symptoms. But before she started molting and stopped laying, she was laying flat eggs. It could be either a virus she's been carrying all along, or a reproductive disorder.
Anyway I think molting is not something to be taken lightly even though it's perfectly normal.

Google translate did it for me 🙂

Well I never realized that! To us it's all some exotic accent and words we don't understand 😂 but then people from Paris can have trouble understanding those from Marseille... And I don't always understand the elderlies from my village ! Especially when they lack some teeth 😅!
Regarding the language I remember that when I went to the states I found it very clever that my trainer didn't use words for commands to lounge her horses (walk, trot, stop...) but sounds and gestures. She had many spanish speaking riders, so it made sense! Don't know if that's the usual way it's done in the states.
Mine that moult are always more timid, not eating as much, and sit hunched and feathers ruffled to keep warm. I am sure they are in stress and not feeling well.

As for time of year, last year everyone was done by now here. Sure hope no one else starts up! Poor Sophia is all patchy bald sections in one day!

Re: commands for horses. Well it depends, some use word commands, others clucks, clicks and chirps. I stopped using word commands when my one mare started listening to the ring steward at shows, I almost came off when they gave the command to ‘Walk, all Walk’ from a canter and my horse stoped so fast I almost fell off! After that I went to chirps, kisses, and clicks when lounging and just leg / body commands when up 😊 maybe these days I would use French 😊

There was a huge ruckus out back this morning. Everyone was doing the alarm calls. I quickly run to the back door thinking it was a dog or coyote only to scare off the big crane that was in the middle of the creek. As soon as it was out of sight everyone immediately calmed down. That got me to thinking. This crane has walked the creek for years, my chickens have never paid it any mind. Why now? Could it be the culprit of my missing chicks? Yes it was walking the creek, but I've noticed that the minnows are gone now, have been for at least a week. If it is the culprit it is in the same category as a hawk and there is nothing I can do but run it off. I also did a head count, everybody's chicks were accounted for.
Wow that’s a thought! Very well could be I guess, wow would not have thought so, but they do eat frogs and such…

Same here, so close to Borden and their NFZ… makes for interest with the crop duster bunch.
You calling me a “crop duster”?
And I was goin to save you a whole plate of prime rib and lobster! Of course Bob knows that I have done some stupid stunts in Marie. She’s okay and I’m okay. (I don’t suggest doing barrels in a 172 , it does clog the fuel system at higher altitudes)
