I have seen people mention “fake” barred rocks a few times. Why are they fake? What is the difference?

My Barred Rocks were called fake rocks. That’s where it started from I guess.

OK we can have a bit of snow for Christmas but it all must melt on Boxing Day and turn warm for me

So, I bought some heritage Barred Rocks...and had a picture of both 'production' barred rocks and some heritage barred rocks. Noticeable difference...and someone here (not mentioning any names, @featherhead007 !) put the words 'fake Barred Rocks' into my mouth - and it became a 'thing'.

I never called them fake - I called mine heritage vs. production....YOU said 'Fake"

Heritage BRs have a larger frame, a longer/bigger head, a slightly smaller comb, and more regular barring...

I thought it was supposed to be the Golden Years - might be Brass Years

And might I say BABIES! It's been in short supply seeing pics of babies recently - and those are darn cute

It was mostly Golden for Mom, she had many good years living independently right up to the end. She passed peacefully at home less than two months after the fall that put her in hospital.
The babies were only a few days old there!

This morning I checked the barn cam and it was just like being home and opening the curtains and seeing snow
