Yep not a great time to have chicks for sure! Here it’s winter until end of March, so I am saying to my kiddies lots of winter to get through still - grow those feathers back fast! I can’t even think of broody ladies!

How r you feeling today?
I'm ok so far today, and have a dr appointment this afternoon. She sent everything off to the pathologist and get a full report today on the results. I'm not expecting to hear terrible news, but, until I get the results I have a nagging thought running through the back of my mind at all times. Yesterday was a bad day, worst so far pain wise. I ended up curled up in a ball in bed with ice to my stomach and a heating pad on my back all evening.

I live in the southeast and it is 22 degrees.......COLD! My poor chooks.
Yea that is chilly for you for sure! Not sure why it’s mild here, -2C (28F) is very mild here this time of year. But I will take it!

Calling for -7C (19F) but still mild tomorrow at 0C (32F). Not until closer to the weekend before it get very cold. At that point I will assess how the chickies do with the cold.

I did make one trip outside yesterday. About 3 me and Rosie did our egg run. All was going good, ended up with 8 eggs total. The last spot though one of the Queens was in the box. I saw she was getting ready to leave so I told Rosie to go ahead and reach under her for the eggs she was done. Ya'll I got my daughter flogged. She came out of the box like a bat out of you know where squaking and flapping in her face. I was no help, all I could do was laugh while holding my stomach as it hurt to do so. This was only the 2nd time Rosie has ever been flogged by a chicken. She was mad at me after, claimed I knew she would do that which I did not. I told her it was character building and that childhood was not complete until you were flogged a few times by chickens. That earned me a death glare and a refusal to gather eggs again. Sorry kiddo, we are doing the same again today.

Yes likely just a formality, but prudent for sure.

I am sorry you had such a miserable day yesterday, are you taking your pain meds? You should continue to take your meds esp before you become active. You need to be active, but to do that you need your pain meds ❤️

And lots of fluids! Help keep all the innards working properly 💕💕

I am taking them, although I had been stretching them out to every 10 hours as I was not needing them every 5 to 6 like prescribed. Yesterday, I took them like I was supposed to and they were not helping.

What ever for?
My grande prairie flight was delayed by 2 hrs! And my lay over in Calgary was 1hr and 45 min! So now that flight had to be delayed while the dozen of us had to run for the flight in Calgary.

Of course the one plane was unloaded at one end of the airport (gate B36), and had to run to the END of the airport to D76)! Made it in just under 10 min! It’s a 20 min walk normally… They were holding the gate for us, had to open the doors and usher us onboard!

But I made it and so did about 5 others who ran with me!

And the lead flight attendant was a hoot! He was cracking jokes and was very nice 👍. Loved how when we went to land in Toronto he went on the PA and told everyone ‘please prepare for landing, it’s a lovely +28 in Cancun’…

You should have seen the heads bob up when he said that! Hahahahaha. He then said ‘and for those of you stuck on this flight it’s balmy -1, in Toronto’ hahaha .

Happy Monday. I am also glad @Ponypoor made it home and I hope your virus bug goes away soon. I hope @RoyalChick is almost recovered, if not completely. And a speedy surgery recovery to @RebeccaBoyd , good rest and chicken cuddles. Hope @GregnLety made it to work OK and is enjoying his work trip. Wish @ValarieF less pain and feeling more energetic soon.
