Marty what are you doing. You are supposed to be the one hiding those eggs well little lady so that there can be surprise babies.
Hard to hide them when one is locked away in a 4x10 room at night hahahahahahaha!

I am just surprised there isn’t a hidden stash in the barn! I looked everywhere but don’t see any. What with the dark days, and everyone molting, it’s no wonder I am not getting eggs!

Sophia’s comb is very pale, and the others also, seems the only eggs I do get are from the silkies! I just hope they don’t start going broody when I head back to work in the new year! I have a feeling it’s going to be a miserable cold winter again.

I went out to tell Jaffar that he was FIRED! But he didn’t say anything. I’m pretty sure that I can’t just fire him like that, because he’s under the union contract. LLCU 101
Local layers chicken union 101 (it’s a tough bunch of hens!) :gig
Don’t tell my gang! They already think they rule the roost! Hahaha!

How are all your babies, now that you are home?
Everyone is good, the grey ladies are molting silly girls…

They are not interested in going out at all! And today I am not feeling well, seem to have picked up a stomach bug travelling. So I have been staying inside, I might head out for a few minutes to check them but I am just not feeling that well to stay out there.

Mr P has been giving me the stranger look, guess he doesn’t remember me hahaha - sheesh I was only gone about 6 weeks!

Mr. Pompeii is just being a brat. He’s probably mad because you left at all

Thanks but the weather is crappy here, expecting 19 inches of snow in the next 48 hours. Did not see any livestock yesterday but hoping after the weather clears I will. Beautiful setting in the edge of the mountains so I'll try to post pictures in the coming days.
Snow report: total in Nagaoka approximately 3 feet, at the rig it was over 4 feet. Had to spend Monday night at the rig but came back to the hotel at lunchtime Tuesday. Look at the amount of snow on the blue tank.

Holy cow! That’s spectacular! Welcome to Japan land of - snow??!! That’s just wild!

Cuckoo snuck out last night while I was closing the coop. She spent the night on the bare patch of ground under the olive sapling. The deer spent the night between her and the garage. (I'm hoping she felt that they would alert her to night predators. She wouldn't let me pick her up until after she'd run back inside when I took food out this morning. Then she snuggled in with me for a few. Feet seem fine. Wattles are warm, comb is cold. When she started wiggling, I put her back down in front of the food. Have to go to work, but Christmas break, so kid will keep an eye on her and take out high protein munchies later.
Like @Ponypoor I’d be beside myself! But nice that you have someone there to keep an eye on her during the day.
