I cannot physically do a 6 hour drive right now. The 15 minute drive to the dr yesterday was bad enough. I'm also supposed to not be out and about exposing myself to illness while I heal. I guess I will just have to wait until I find leghorn chicks at TSC or Rural king and raise them myself. That is not the end of the world. I love raising chicks.
YES agreed you need to stay put, there will always be nice chickies out there, and yes raising them from chicks would be awesome 🥰

How is the weather holding up? I see we are all in for some cold miserable weather starting Friday, do you have any plans for Mama Hen? Or are you just going to leave her be? I guess it’s sheltered enough we’re she is….

Oh and how are you feeling today?

This is a frequent excuse from you. Just pointing that out.
Whining weather tax for Bob 🥰

This was the one I tried all day to load, Marty in early November

I’ll let you slide this time, because you need to heal yourself. But you do need some leghorns also. ( You won’t be disappointed with leghorns) :old :hugs
I would still like to get a few Azure Blues in the Spring, if I can swing it. A few more blue egg layers. I don’t see legbars around here otherwise I would get a few of them to shove under my broodies in the Spring.

Yes I'm blaming it on karma. You had better watch out, I think you teased her as well.
It’s easy for me to count a dozen - not so easy when you get over a couple dozen.

You can’t blame yourself - she is a sneaky one and will find a way. Short of locking her away not much you can do.

Do you have any plan for her?

That was 6 weeks. It felt like 2. Time is flying.
Yes time flies!

I am very happy to be home, this morning the chickies decided I was OK haha. They were back to their normal behaviour around me, but had no plans on going outside haha. They just gave me the ‘are you crazy human’ look.

I was having the exact same thought!
The long haul will be when I head back on the 2nd. I will be there until April - that will be a challenge, I will make sure to move my Hen House cams so I can see the kiddos roosting better, and I also want to see if I can get some barn cams were the horses are.

I just hop those silkies don’t go broody on my mum…
