Well I am glad you managed to sell the eggs, but I don’t even understand what she means by ‘fresh eggs’ - where does she think store eggs come from? Machines?
Store bought eggs are aged. Sometimes 60 days or more.
They must taste better. 😆

After reading more of her responses to other people I have came to the conclusion that she is just begging for attention and hoping someone will offer to buy her store eggs. She has done it before to get things donated to her by church members. I almost did not even respond but I looked at 3 dozen eggs on my counter and thought I would try to be nice. So far....no one has agreed to buy her eggs even though she finally flat out asked someone.
Not after she turned down free eggs. Nope not buying her any eggs. No way.

They will both most likely lay a pale green egg. Mom (DC) lays a pale brown egg, and I assume Dad has genes for Blue eggs. Some of their older 'siblings' hatched by my co-broodies are laying - and are laying anywhere from a deep olive to a lighter green. (They all had the same Dad, but different Moms, the pale green egg layer's mom was an Astralorp, which lays an egg just a hair darker brown than the DC girls. So, most likely Eli & Babs will lay pale green egg like hers, but could be a light brown, too.:idunno
This is going to be so much fun! :wee :wee

Not sure I understand what you mean.
I successfully enticed them into the coop before bed time and closes the door hoping they would like the manybroosts available to them.
Instead they ate over 10’ up in the rafters.
Not sure I know what I meant either.....They're inside where there's warmth and shelter. They feel more comfortable way up in the rafters at the moment. My tribe roost in the rafters most of the time.....so tonight, the bulk of them settled down on a pair of low roosts that are almost never used. Why? I dunno. Looks like snow will hit sometime tonight. They didn't do this last time it snowed....

I forgot about eggs to be honest!
I wonder how the dynamics will change if one or both of them start laying before Bernadette?!
It could get complicated.
None no one is passing Bernie in the pecking order. Egg laying will have nothing to do with pecking order in this case. She is grown up, was there before them, and has already established her superiority. No one is jumping her in the order by laying an egg. Not happening.

I find that egg laying only effects the pecking order of hens of the same vintage.

I took off for the coast today (road-trip in the rain) because I wanted sushi. The surf was huge:
