So based upon this I want to know how many chickens everyone has.

Three, by Proofs #1 & #2 (first of egg color, first of breed doesn’t count), but Proof #6 (named chickens don’t count) might override; therefore we have no chickens out there. I definitely need to rectify that!

So based upon this I want to know how many chickens everyone has.

I have two if we don't apply the naming principle.

Due to colour Annie (cream), Clara (brown) and Bistro (blue) don't count.

Due to breed Penny (Orpington), Rema (Marans), Rosa (Welsummer), Isabella (Brahma) and Ruth (Easter Egger) don't count.

That leaves me with only two chickens : Louise and Myrna who are both Orpingtons! No wonder I am getting so few eggs !

3 Black Australorp hens, named Little, Middle, and Lark
2 Blue Australorp hens, named May and Stormy
1 Jubilee Orpington, named Widget

I'm thinking I only have 3 chickens, if we throw out the "name" proof. The plan will be to get 3 pullet Bielefelder chick and 1 Blue Australorp chick, adding 2 more to the count.

Someone please check my math!

This is what it looks like when Babs flies down from the rafters and finds Bernadette parked on the runway.
One of the many reasons I don’t like having the Math Majors roosting in the rafters is that they rely on the people door being open to give them a landing runway, and I like to close the people door when it gets really cold.
They can do a much shorter flight down to the roost which looks like a safer option to me, but they seem to prefer the drama of the long runway flight.
Sorry about the dark grainy video - it is from the coop cam. I think all the dust at the beginning must be from Eli’s landing that the camera missed.

We went through 1/2 a quart of blueberries. It was too much fun.

Roosters count regardless of breed, except every 3rd rooster doesnt.
