Oi boy! Just checked out the 50x50 netting and gasped! $600.00!

I will have to think on that, I like the look of it and all but $600 is pricey.... definitely need to win the lottery ha!

Wow, that's WAY more than I paid three years ago!

Maybe netting isn't any cheaper then!

How big is does a Rhode Island Red hen get? My girl is full grown, but she seems smaller than the original two I had years back. She came to my yard as an orphan and I raised her as one of mine.
I’m wondering how much should a RIR weigh??

Actually, isn't it red and black @rural mouse , and then dilution of black = blue (sort of), then the barring gene then the xxx gene, and the qqq gene and the??? gene that all create different patterns/dilutions, etc.

Something like that anyways. I need to find what book RM uses as a reference! The feather color site she linked to only gives results, not the 'whys' I need to understand the whys to figure out the results without having to use a results calculator every.single.time.!

Look at the talons on that sucker - WOW! Amazing! And that beak!

You have to admit - they are an awesome hunting machine

Great advise. Bored chickens = problem behaviors. Just like kids!

Thanks, I love Bistro's dark neck feathers that look green or purple depending on the lighting and she lays lovely blue eggs. She doesn't like to be touched, but will stand on my outstretched legs if I sit on the ground.

Why would you choose the 50x50 option if your run is only 16' wide? Wouldn't the 25x50 (at 1/2 the price) make more sense? That would give you plenty to fold over the sides some for security...and still have the 50' length. While it won't cover the entire run length, it will give you a GREAT start. And, while $300 isn't anything to sneeze at, it is a bit easier to swallow than $600.
