You might find some relief taking lactase enzyme with the yogurt, esp if you have colitis symptoms. Yogurt is not truly lactose-free (reduced lactose, yes).

Dear Aurora:

From "Formerly 'BLUE' ":
IMG_3076[1].JPG

Dear Miss Queen Aurora, knower of all things chicken,

I have a question that isn't about "The Way of the Chicken', per say, but it is VERY MUCH chicken related. I am a relatively young 2.5 year old hen (I'm approaching 3, but please don't tell anyone!). I am a very pretty grey colour (silly humans call me 'Blue'), or at least I was. In my last moult, I (*gasp*) started getting some 'blonde' in my feathers, and my nicely fluffed derriere is also turning light blonde. Is this a sign of 'old age'? Am I becoming the equivalent of a human 'turning grey' in their old age? I am too young to look old. What am I to do? Should I dye my feathers so no one will know? Is there a food I can eat that will colour my feathers? ?Perhaps blueberries or Elderberries? Should I pluck out the worst of the offending feathers? I am beside my self with shame for my premature aging, and am desperately in need of advise as to the course of action I should take.

Thank you in advance for your wisdom,
Formerly 'Blue'

P.S. I've attached some shameful photos of me showing you this demoralizing 'discolouring' of which I spoke. It has even invaded my once 'soft black' hackle feathers!😱

Yes, how chicks love to go UP! More UP!

The swelling has gone down a lot, DH said yesterday morning it was looking smaller, and I agree. Got black and blue now down near the sole, gravity at work. I’ve been raising it often, putting on diclofenac voltaren cream twice a day, wrapping it with an ace bandage, and carefully walking using a cane, which I stopped using yesterday as my wrist was getting the beginnings of carpal tunnel from the weight I was putting on it flat-handed. BUT then I remembered that I had saved an orthopedics boot from another injury years ago, found it and dug it out. That feels great and has been working well keeping my ankle unmoving.

From 2020 again - these are only about two weeks apart!

My chicks love to go up. Up my shirt and on my shoulder. Sleeping under my chin. Trying to fly. They already flew to the top of their tub.
