My babies are sleeping on top of their brooder plate guess it’s too warm for them under it, love how Tippy has her head resting on the branch

awww so lovely - I can’t wait till I can get my
Mamas out and about - I tried to entice them out of the hen house today but they wouldn’t come out.

What does the breed standard call for?

She is a wee chick she will grow

I don’t eat any fowls. Chicken, duck, turkey, (well maybe some turkey, once a year) Grouses, those beautiful pheasants, or any other feathered creature with a heartbeat.

5 1/2 pounds. Maybe she is still growing. She is smaller than her sister, Felicitas, who is huge.

I think I will turn off the brooder plate tomorrow, and put the heat up a bit in the office instead. Those tweens weren't using it at all today, they spent the whole day out and about and a few hrs of the afternoon on their own without my supervision, they have been well integrated I to the flock.

Next step night time roosting.

I have been known to eat the elusive fur-Bearing Trout! From Winnipeg!

Josephine came inside and started sleeping. Dominica came in later. I put both outside again due to complaints from house management. Both came right back in. I think Josephine really likes the house, and I think Dominica is sick of Gaby. I have never seen Dominica fly to such heights.

She's from September last year. Maybe eight months, using my guess of hatch date?
