The Littles have come up with a solution to the overcrowding on the top deck. I don’t think Sylvie will accept that at night but she is happy now. She likes sitting up on perches.
I have turned off the heat and removed the side ‘feathers’ to see if they will move to the lower deck. The lower deck tray is more spacious.

They seem to be going through a growth spurt. Just last week they were babies! Now they look like chickens 😊

Today my Tweens were right in the middle of they action when I was picking the tops off the Spruce tree which they seem to have a taste for, little Tippy was right in there stealing from the big ladies!

@BY Bob your observation on stealing is correct, there seems to be no retaliation if the Tweens are able to steal goodies 😊

Mugs Monday

A cool and windy start to the day here, but everyone is full on outside digging scratching and getting into trouble 😁

First off some mugs

And that Penne loves flying up into the Spruce trees benches, the Tweens were about 5’ up there yesterday- tried to entice them up there just now but the dirt was more interesting.

The poor silkie babies can only look longingly up at her 😆

The Tweens are bopping and hopping on the roost with the big ladies.

The rest of the video's from last night. Everyone was home and either streaming tv or on their computers. I got tired of fighting for internet and went to bed.

Go as you please. Rosie got 3rd and her best friend Mallory and her standardbred pony cowboy got 2nd. More bribing was required for this class. I had to bribe Rosie and Russ with a bag of Crunchy Cheetos to enter Juvenile Pleasure. I had to bribe Mallory with a bag of chips to enter this class with Rosie. Argued me Cowboy is a pacing pony so all she needed to enter was Pacing Classes. She did enter those and got 2 blue ribbons from them. That pony is a speed demon and out paces the big horses.

We have a 2 day memorial day show this weekend. I will no longer have to bribe Rosie to enter Juvenile Pleasure. In certain classes they are keeping a record of winners and on the final show of the season giving out award for high points. I've told her Russ was truly a pleasure horse and he always belonged in that class. She argued me he was not fancy enough and did not step high enough for it. Finally proof that momma knows what she is talking about. Teenagers DONT always know everything.

Oh goodness, I hope most it’s a passing phase for Sydney, maybe spring fever hormones being a bit crazy.

My second hope is that if she decides to keep on doing it that it is not quite as loud and sound carrying as a full on rooster crow and that it happens less frequently. 🤞 Fingers crossed she doesn’t get the full hang of how its done.

Normally, I would find this behavior interesting and even a bit funny but in your case I am not at all amused, I am worried with you, as I know you have some neighbors that don’t appreciate roostery noises.
The neighbor who complained about Jabber has moved since but I do have new neighbors and I do not know what their perspective might be.

In my experience, they like to be as high as they can. You should ask Eli about lower roosting.

I have been playing my game mostly. Just passed out while I was opening the blinds and fell straight back on my head. Ouch, called hubby at work I'm just gonna sit on couch for awhile. Now my head and neck hurt.
I love all the photos of the babies. I need a hair dryer before I wash my dirty silkies.
Be careful. We worry about you. :hugs

They sure do look like they were enjoying themselves 💕

When I thought doubles I was thinking of a pairs class like we have here, not riding double 😊 I would have fallen off sure thing!

Are these shows all Gaited Horse classes? I love that pony BTW 😊

Gift of eggs and some chit chat, invite them over maybe? Do they have kids? Little girls who will fall in love with chickens and ask their parents for some? 💕

Just be an enabler - you can do it 😊

I have placed a 4x4 block under the rail everyone likes to roost on in the Rooster Run, so the baby silkies can hop up there. Well no need to worry! They can hop up quite nicely onto that rail! Even that wee white one!

RC do not let Eli show than how to fly up into the rafters 😊

Hey how is Eli ? Is she still broody?
