I did that to get one of my hens. Went in after full dark with my red head lamp. I put a towel gently over her and put her in a bin, put the lid gently over the top. I took her back out the same way, and put her back on the roost.

She probably wonder what was that weird dream!

I am sitting here in the Chicken garden and it struck me that Babs is quite a skillful landscape architect.
It is a bit hard to see, but she has cleared an area of the Artemisia to create a sort of protected outdoor chicken room.
A clearing in the Artemisia jungle.
There is a thick wall of Artemisia to the South which she has never tried to eat, the Chicken Palace to the North, my chair to the East, and to the West a tunnel into the Butterfly Bush.
What is so striking is that her cleared area coincides exactly with cover from the tree so they are almost totally hidden in the little dell she has created.

Here she is making some minor tweaks to her design and my best go at capturing a picture of her achievement.

Those chicks are brats! I piled the crates in the hopes they would choose to roost on their shelf in the Hen House, but nope there they are piled up precariously upon that top crate!

Guess I better go make sure they were ok.

Yes, Momma is standing on a limb. She hasn't learned to levitate without the use of her wings yet...I think she is trying, though!
