I don't like to go outside at darkbecause of predators, plus it creeps me out...

Lots of snakes, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, more snakes, deer that you think are something else, the occasional black bear, shall I go on?

As long as it was made secure against predators or placed in a secure enclosure.

It was rotting in my friends yard... I'm not sure how much I trust it. It has a hole in its roof, its roof is rotting, the wire is quite rusty.

Understandable. However, she will be sleeping and unlikely to fuss much if you do it then. Will your mom or dad go with you?

Good thing you do not live in Australia. They have drop bears.
