Brad is just misunderstood! He needs a hug.

I have had years of practice with those types of hugs from Momma Hen. I thought of something terrifying. Imagine a cross between Brad and Momma Hen. That is the stuff of nightmares. Dang it, now I want one.

Jaffar has his days too! Sometimes he just wants to bite me and pinch my skin. Bites my ankles, but then I scoop him up and he’s fine with that.

Thank you, I had not saw that one yet. Watching that I finally realized why I love Brad. Brad is the male silkie version of Momma Hen. Right down to the grabbing of skin and not letting go. I felt it deep down in my soul when she said Brad would live forever because he is a gremlin. I feel the same about the ole bat. In a world full of Butters, Sydneys, Babs, curlies and all the other sweet hens. Some days you need to wake up and be Brad's, or Momma Hens.

Yup - some days I just want to be a nasty ole momma hen and bite someone and not let go

I trying to think who I have here that is a biter - my niece’s hen Raven bites - my BIL doesn’t believe me when I tell him how she hauls the other out of their nest boxes then goes and lays her own egg any old place.

He said she was a low rank hen. Hahaha she is a bully! Thankfully Fluffy beats the stuffing out of her. Unfortunately Raven beats on poor Curly and Marty. But other than the nest boxes she doesn’t go out of her way to beat on anyone. Even the Azurs are fitting in really well with no drama - I was so sure they would be crazy and run amok. Tonight I even picked up Twister and removed her from the chicks side of the summer house. She didn’t flap or anything, and when I put her down instead of running away she squatted a bit then walked away.

Actually I am quite fortunate in the fact that I don’t really have any real nasty hens, and even Rico and Penne aren’t that bad. I like to think it a combo of Mr P and his good nature (bother genetically and actions) and the fact they have a lot of space and stuff to entertain them.
