I actually have two (very ruff looking) hens that are the Italian leghorn l, but in Italy is more commonly known as the Livorno. They are much smaller than Leghorns possibly even smaller than half their size! Is @BY Bob in Europe? Or did I read wrong? If I had the space I would probably want to breed an sell hatching eggs of a few different breeds, but I don't have the money or the space as new saplings have grown in the space I need.

My buddy is back for Pony Sunday. I love his ears - they are constantly on the move.
I guess that is why he is still with us.

So I have a question, does anyone have poultry show experience? I really want to go to the next one locally! Or does anyone have photos of their birds at shows?

I do not. With the Avian flu here there haven't been any shows in years.

An entirely separate coop and run at least 30 feet away?

In a perfect world, separate living space 30 feet away with strict clothing control. That is very hard to do. Trust me.

Do the best you can. Anything is better than nothing.

Gosh, she really has turned into a gorgeous chicken. Glows white and her comb gorgeous . Best of all though she seems to have at least some interest in being a lap chicken.

She is a lap chicken when it suits her.

Yes, I know, the clothing & shoes part is particularly tough. I’ve been dealing with each group with different clothes, but right now, both groups are outside, the chicks in their fenced-off area and the Bigs roaming everywhere else. I’m checking on both, so tracking whatever, everywhere. I’m washing my hands but not changing outfits to go from the front of the house to the back and around the barn. Not letting the chicks on my pants for now, but later, with different pants, after they’re inside and I’ve had a shower. But one stood on my shoes. My goal at best can be to minimize the load.

Oh right, I forgot all about the avian flu. I heard that if even one of your birds gets it the whole flock needs to be culled! The avian flu isn't that bad in Italy and I'm not too sure if there are any poultry shows in Europe simply because of the risk.
