Update on my everything:
- The people who I thought were coming down from Washington State, found other housing in their state.
-my eastern property is now being patrolled by the sheriff department. I was asked to press charges against anyone who violates the “no trespassing” order.
-Coco seems to be doing better this afternoon.
-Hen-Rietta’s bumble foot is completely healed. And new tail feathers are coming in.
-A friend of a friend in town, wanted me to buy a horse she had been looking after. I’m not getting any more horses.
-A church friend has cancer and I went to see him today. He’s doing well after surgery, but he’s not comfortable with the pain as of now.
-seems I have jury duty next month (received a summons today) They send out summons to everyone who is registered to vote. My past career, usually excludes me from serving.
-weather has been mild and comfortable since the rain rolling through from the hurricane.
- I have bored you all enough for now. :caf
Not me. I'm pleased to read your update 😀

I
Today. They've learned the drill. Opened the brooder, lay the plastic mesh brooder upper "door" like a ramp up to the tote on the desk, holding it on the edge of the tote and under it for a little support, and they jump or fly as far as they can toward it and climb the mesh to the tote edge. But the last one hung back today. Then looked like she didn't want to go and was walking away. But what she was doing was backing up and getting the proper flight angle (@featherhead007) to fly straight out onto the edge and bypass the mesh entirely!

Thought I'd bring them outside for a bit, but they immediately dustbathed and then sunbathed in the sun right there. So they had a grand time inside, hopping all around it, running on the mesh, the windowsill, watching DH on the lawn mower out the window, etc. (Don't worry food and water is in here too.)

We are of the same mind on this actually, thanks for spelling it out!

I think there is something not working right with her gizzard, there's too much undigested things in her poop that are tough, like corn, or hulled sunflower seeds, the day after she has that food, compared to everyone else. Mealworms seem better. So continuing this easy to digest baby bird food for now and waiting to see how it goes makes sense. She doesn't like crumbles mash made with water or yogurt (she does like yogurt). I haven't yet figured out a better way to get her to eat enough of the nutritious feed except by tube feeding.
Have you tried a little olive oil and massaging her crop? A trick @RoyalChick taught me

I have no time to figure this out right now but maybe @RoyalChick could calculate the amounts for you.

I would rather dissolve the right Baytril dose in as little water as possible and using a syringe, direct dose her. Sick chickens do not always drink the right amount of water to allow for good dosing and underdosing antibiotics can have consequences.
I've bought a good probiotic (sav a chick as well as the Electrolyte l, savAchick too help Tina get over her course of amoxicillin. Bobs advice really helped 👍

watch and see how the others react...and then make a decision.. If they generally leave them alone, let them out. If they seem to harass them and momma has to constantly be chasing them, close the brooder for a couple of days to give her a break and the others a chance to get used to the fact there are 'littles' there.
The brooder is open. Willow is keeping them safe. Splotch kicked her off to lay and egg, and then allowed her to go back and sit in her nest. I just put Pastel in the coop. He was ignoring the chicks. Splotch did fight Willow earlier, chasing her out of the brood pen. I chased Splotch out and let Willow walk in to protect the chicks.

I don’t know where the chooks are getting those bugs from. I found today, that little Dakota has them (stick tight fleas) on her face, ears, comb and under her waddles (chin) they look annoying and bet they are to the birds.
Maybe they are in the grass? The chooks like to forage in the grass. She’s been treated with “Vaseline with Permethrin 10”. :hmm :(
I gave BBQ and Splotch a Diatamatious Earth dust bath today, doused Bolt in Permethrin yesterday with a spray bottle, and dunked Pastel in a permethrin bath today. Yes, I diluted it with water. I’m not gonna dunk and spray my chickens in a strong chemical! When the chicks are older I will treat them with DE or permethrin. And Willow. Splotch is starting to lose all of her feathers like BBQ. My poor babies. I’m going to spray Bolt with permethrin next Saturday, to kill any eggs or hatchlings. I’m going to need to spray their coop I guess. Ugh. Why are the crazy birds so high maintenance!?
