From these pictures right now I would be 80% confident they are pullets. I am looking at their tails. Hens and pullets are supposed to have a more rounded tail, think of a pompom. Roosters tail feathers tend to look more like this.

YEEEEES, thank you so much for clearing that up! They don't seem to have any pin feathers or any other feathers around their tails and they definitely seem like friendly little pullets!

Everyone is talking about Silkies today, so I thought I should share my two Silkies with you all.
Mama Silkie, and mama and baby Silkie.
A great dual purpose breed of duster! :lau View attachment 3630269View attachment 3630271

More pictures of Peep please, and her sister. Actually I encourage all my fluffy butt friends who have silkie hens to post their pictures a little bit more. I still feel so lost without having a silkie hen running around. I am very thankful I have my beloved Branch with me but it does not feel complete.

I’m already preparing for Pastel’s hatch day! I didn’t know Splotch’s was the same day. :he
Yes. They are clutch siblings. I think that Splotch might be the 14th… but I’ll celebrate them both on the 13th.

Bolt and BBQ’s hatch days are on the 8th of October.
I think that Willow’s hatch day is tomorrow. If you’re going off of exactly 6 months from paying her first egg. I might make her a thread tonight…

He is very pretty. Looks a little like Sir Cuckoo. I would think that he's mixed breed but @rural mouse seems to be the expert on chicken breeds and genetics around here.
I've just played lots of "where did that trait come from". Then I go do some research...

@Gigachad poultry idea on figuring out that handsome dude: plug the ayam cemani into a genetics calculator and run it against every silver combo you can find. Featherfooted or crested can be eliminated as those would carry through at least partially. Didn't look for 5 toes, but if he doesn't have on either foot, those breeds could also be eliminated. Could give you a place to start for breeding them.

She is having MAJOR feather and skin/ lice problems. I have her of Nutrena Feather Fixer food. Splotch is also starting to have some feather problems. She’s happy. That’s my biggest concern. She wants to live. She’s just having major problems and it makes me sad.

PS. Pastel and Splotch’s hatch day is September 13th. I might make a thread for them. Two years old already!
Sounds like they've started moulting. Getting ready for winter (I know, you don't get snow, but temps still get colder).
