How wonderful!Egg update
Checked the eggs today, day 12. Good blood vessel growth and good movement of the embryo![]()
Same dog literally ate my old jacuzzi cover. The back yard looked like it snowed for days. Everything was covered with little styrofoam balls, including the dog!Our dog chewed the rockers off the rocking chair one nighthe was a puppy.
He also chewed the window sills on our huge windows
We gave him some pig ears and cow hooves to knaw on.
Oh my goodness what an ordeal! That is so many pounds of COB to have a bag failDrama drama drama…
Went to the feed store and of course they didn’t have any of the Senior Maintenance horse pellets, no problem I can use the complete horse pellets. Whoa wait ! Both feeds have gone from $18/bag to $27/bag in the couple weeks since I last purchased.
Well needed it so I got it. Throw a bag on the trolly.
Next is Layer feed - oh that’s better - my gang really really likes the brand I got last time, and surprisingly it’s pellets and they ate it! Yay! Ok 2 bags of that on the trolly.
Trolly getting heavy to push with 75kg of feed.
Oh right Beet Pulp - 20kg - toss on the trolly- oi boy 95kg…..
Ran into a bag of something, oh! Look! It’s oyster shell, but I don’t like how it’s all flakey ‘Shells’ reminded me of finger nails haha!

Ok now I need 3 bags of Corn/Oats/Barley (COB) - need another trolly.
Oh pardon me young man? I don’t see any COB, is it out back? I need 3 bags…
And off he goes out back and comes back with another trolly. Luckily he parks it by the check-out.
And he helped put it in the back of the truck for me. Pelting down rain - ugh….
Got home and started to unload it all - Beet Pulp, unloaded, Layer next, opened the bag and WTH?! Double check blue label - hmmmm Layer alright by ‘textured’.

Checked out the other Layer bag blue label yep Layer but slightly different name, I saw the top bag and assumed the one under was the same - sheesh!

Well too late now it’s opened. Just tight on space for yet another bag of feed, luckily I have an empty bin, and in it went. The other Layer pellets went into its proper bin.
Next COB grabbed the bag, what’s that trickling noise? OH CRAP! WTH! The whole side of the bag split spilling grain everywhere - chickens came running like crazy! GAHHH! I was able to reposition the bag to stem the spill, and proceeded to clean that up - here chickie chickie chickie - enjoy!

Finally got everything unloaded, put away and cleaned up, I filled a feeder with the textured layer and wonderful! They like it also. Just hope they eat both Layer varieties and not just the textured variety!
Here are some fluffy butts enjoying the textured Layer.
