Both of my babies have had their Christmas presents early. And they are really comfortable with them

I am worried about Sylvie.
Either the bullying by Piglet was worse than I realized or she has some feather issue.
She is all bald around her neck - it is hard to get a close look but I think she has pin feathers coming in. I hope that is what I am seeing.
She has not returned to laying since she was broody and her comb is not nice and red.
Do you think she has just stopped for the winter maybe?
She is sleeping in the nest box and I am not trying to stop her if that is where she feels safe from the demon Piglet!
The odd thing is I don’t see anyone pecking her during the day - this is all about roosting time.
It makes me sad.
But at the same time I hope that is what is going on and not some weird genetic disease that goes with her weird coloring.
Any words of advice or reassurance from all you more experienced chicken people?View attachment 3687081View attachment 3687082
I suppose there’s always some horrible answer (I have no clue what) but my opinion would be to banish those thoughts for now and go for the first likely scenario which is post-broody molting. Molting often starts there at the neck, in my limited experience, though what I’ve seen here is the inner feathers go and the cover feathers stay longer.

If you want to further investigate and can get hold of her to examine it more closely, I’d look for any marks of gratuitous pecking there, and monitor if the pin feathers coming in go missing. That ought to be enough to eliminate or confirm PP (Pigletitis Peckinosis).

The carpenter that built my coop, messed up by putting the roof on the tilt the wrong way around, which causes havoc when it rains... but he thought the nest are out really well.
He used one plank of wood along the top and five pieces of wood along the bottom. One either side of the plank, holding it up securely and three in the middle making 3 good nesting areas. Imo, that was good thinking
Did you manage to put in some eaves troughing (gutter), to collect and redirect water away from your coop?
