I'm constantly amazed at where they find wild water. I never considered there was some there. She was really enjoying it.Being a connoisseur of wild water is just like being a connoisseur of fine wine. Undertones of tannins, light, almost sweet tones of maple leaf, etc. Takes a very deft palate to discern the lovely notes and tones of various wild waters!
Yes, I was slow to pick up on what's going on. My apologies @RoyalChickYes, you say this NOW - AFTER she has ambled up on that shaky ladder and stared death in the face!
Well, it will help trip her up when she goes to check on them at dusk - in the 'extra dusky' coop! So, there is that!
On a serious note, @RoyalChick - do be careful and be sure to wear your headlamp in the 'enhanced darkness'!

Fast forward to now, and there’s a brand new young pullet in my back yard!! Looks like an Easter egger- and a very chill one at that. She was unflappable as I built a run around her, and is already dust bathing. Wish I had gotten a photo of my crew staring at her from across the way.

Finally stopped raining and it was warm enough to hang out with the feathered crew. We brought out a new flock block for them. I got one of these last winter and they seem to be money well spent as they last quite a while. Enough chit chat on to the photos.

Sugar is super white now but you can see her breast feathers appear pink! Maybe she is part flamingo??
