We leave our pets at home if the place we go isn’t pet friendly. It’s not polite to bring an animal to such a place and it’s stressful for the animal.

Many times I have had to get friends or family to feed and water my pets. To gut now I am caring for my Vets wife’s cat, he is a barn cat and doesn’t she ‘inside’ a house at all. He is living in the barn and he is very cozy there - I go and check on him every day or two, fill up his feed and water - give him some luvin 😊
It would be nice if I had someone who could regularly watch my dog, who didn’t also cost an arm and a leg. We often end up at my in-law’s spontaneously and stay overnight (they’re not even too far, maybe a 40 min drive), but they relish having the grandkids sleep over. :idunno

My poor dog hates wearing clothes, but she has her special “garage coat” for those days (they do let her in the garage at least, which stays in the 40s/50s (above 5 C)).

The chickens and fish tanks fend for themselves on those days.

Quincy has enjoyed a four month break from egg laying, but recently her comb darkened up.:fl
I’m also wildly curious to see if she will buddy up with Perry. I had read on one of Shadrach’s threads that chickens of the same breed/appearance tend to gravitate to one another… if so, then is the draw stronger than age and rank? We shall see!

I fear my lucky streak of avoiding the crud that has been going around the house is running out. Itchy scratchy throat, sneezing, start of sinus pressure and occasional coughing fits this afternoon. Broke over to try to get ahead of it and fixed a alkaseltzer cold and flu drink.
I've got a little of the sinuses congestion this morning as well as a bit of a throat problem. I'll have to use my salt solution soon.

I would drop the kids off tell them have fun and come on home 😁

As a kid all the kids in the family rotated between all our aunts and uncles place with their kids 😊
