Well our house thermostat is in F makes me think it’s warmer.

I see what you're getting at.
You want me and my siblings to show up, get rid of your snow, wash your dishes, and then stuff ourselves with food while being harassed by every single chicken you have while laughing. (Which, honestly, sounds like a good time. )

Don't forget, we had ice balls today outside. Now I want some snow.

It is very windy and cold. Now that the panic has subsided she could be let out occasionally with them. I still worry about Bubba. Not in the sense of him being aggressive towards her but he is just way to big if he ever attempted to breed her. Bubba is heavy, easily in the 8 to 9lb range and maybe heavier.

He is a big boy. Surprising.

And she lays blue eggs! Her sister lays pink eggs - completely floored me, I was expecting blue from her also. But the pink is pretty also.

After talking to him when he opened up the coop this morning she was intermingling with the other chickens. He just assumed I had finally gotten around to fully integrating her. I assume one of the other hens had managed to knock down door to her box I put in front of it at night so no one can get to her. Of course he now thinks I should let her be with them all the time since nothing happened to her this morning. I am too over protective of that little hen. I'm sorry, with my luck with keeping silkie hens I am allowed to be overprotective.

That seems perfectly reasonable on his part. I'm glad he was not subverting your wishes.

He used to raise Arabian horses - had a big farm of them….. all long gone

I tell mum the chickens like rice because they think it’s maggots… she is not above giving me a swat it seems!

Of course after having poor Red and her fly strick I don’t joke about that anymore

If winter stayed like it has been so far this year I would be happy. But we all know the snow and cold will come blasting in at some point.

It’s the extremes that get to me, too much snow too cold….

This is enough snow for me! And the chooks.

Snow is coming up the coast this weekend. 6-12 inches forecasted for us. I had to dig the snowblower out the back of the garage. It had not run in almost 2 years.

It started on the second pull. I'm very lucky.
