Hi all, just popping in quick to say hi.

It’s been a very hectic week here with the spraddle legged chick and my own chicks, and work and some cranky visitors at my place. Add to this my not sleeping well with my RLS and I am just exhausted.

But I wanted to check in and see some chats.

Chick update

Well our spraddle legged is still with us, she is drinking really well with the syringe, I am thinking of getting a nipple waterer for her. That way she can drink when she wants. She is also eating crumble, and for the first time I can feel her crop is full. I am trying to get as much fluids into her as I can to prevent impaction Of her crop.

I ditched the hobbles and went with braces on her feet to straighten them and her toes, and I used a piece of cardboard like a snowboard to hold her feet straighter and keep her legs is a better position.

I also placed her feet flat on the floor, tucked the towel between her feet and legs and tucked her in so her body is held at a better position. The added advantage is that in her struggles she is pushing with her legs now. Need to get them Strengthened.

I still have very low hopes in her odds of becoming mobile but I will persevere for a few more days and see if she can start to push herself upright. My fear is that she has too much damage and will never have her legs straight enough to stand let alone walk.

You are doing right by her. Give her a chance. That's all you can do. :hugs :hugs :hugs

Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

If God created every bird, animal, insect, & human and Luke 12:6 says not one sparrow is forgotten, how much more we should believe He's not forgotten any one of our birds/buddies when He takes them home. Grief is normal but belief that the Creator knows when to take one of His creations home is His choice. It's His world to decide when time is up. Until I can create something out of nothing I have to live in this world by His wise rules. I know He loves His creation and in Genesis said it was VERY GOOD so He has a plan for all of us before and after life as your pastor will agree I'm sure :hugs
My sister is raising a sparrow. It's getting integrated into my flock of backyard sparrows. It won't be forgotten.

Oh it’s contagious!!! Blame RC and her chooks 😁
Blame Agathae. Most of all, blame Batty Ol' Hens!
