Is it any surprise that Maggie is irritable with the Little Princesses when they play games like this just as she is settling down for a night's sleep huddled up with her two sisters.

In spite of all the shenanigans, everyone is now settled down for the night.
Haha! Little brats! Gotta love 'em!

Alarm!

While I was filming the girls snacking the other day, Hattie sounding warning and Aurora picked it up. This video is 3 minutes long. They stood stock still for almost the entire 3 minutes. Hattie had 1 foot only 1/2 way on the ground and she never finished her step. You will see Hattie and Aurora on my right with Sansa frozen behind the pool heater. Sydney was to my left.

The initial alarm sound (a short squeak repeated once), which is not loud, came from Hattie and then Aurora takes charge, makes the loud warning and maintains what I call the "rumble".

I've been suspecting for some time that Aurora has been picking up more Sentinel duty from Hattie. This may be an example of them working together while on duty.

THAT'S IT! I think that is what Shad refers to as the warning call, however. I just uploaded a video of Bagheera doing the same.

I never heard an alarm call sound like the egg song.. until I saw TRUMP doing it one day... I wasn’t sure what he was doing but figured it was some sort of call.. this is it.. of course as soon as he sees me he stops! Someone else was calling at first too... but after you can see him checking the sky... I also thought that Claudine and Clementine might have been hiding as well.. but they also may have just been cooling off
Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Mine stop when I arrive, too.

Just Call Me Match-Maker Michelle!

Ok, I have to brag. The stars aligned in chicken land TWO nights in a row with my assistance.
1.) Wednesday after work, I saw a Nextdoor post about a found hen. This was about nine hours after the post, with no hits. I posted on a different local forum here that has a much broader audience and found the owner in 12 minutes! She was so happy and thought for sure her hen was "a goner" (her words).
2.) While trying to help with that hen, before I found the owner, I texted a chicken friend and asked if she knew anyone with a missing Gold Laced Wyandotte. Instead of texting back, she called. We chatted a bit and she shared that her daughter's beloved rooster had just recently died. (I remember seeing pics of her on facebook several years back walking him in a stroller!) She LOVED her rooster and was heartbroken. My friend asked that I let her know if anyone is looking to get rid of a rooster. The next day, I texted my other close chicken friend and asked, "You have a bantam rooster, but are keeping him, right?" She texted back right away, "Do you need one? I found out today I have 2!" Ironically, "Emily" decided to crow the very day I had a different friend in need of a rooster. So today they connected and now Emily has a new loving home and the heartbroken teenager has a cockerel to dote over.

So there you have it. I connected 1.) found hen with lost owner and 2.) cockerel in need of a new home with a loving new family over the course of two nights. :love:love:love
