@BY Bob -- I forgot to mention that some hatcheries will ship as few as 3 chicks or juveniles like Cackle does. My Pet Chicken has some rare breeds and will ship a small amount of birds too -- more expensive but a more rare selection and best ordered in the Spring. Are these options more $$$ -- yes, but these breeders can't afford to piss* off their customers and usually have decent customer service.

Look for a bargain and we get potluck in bird quality. After all my heartaches dealing with private breeders it behooved my circumstances to pay premium and be choosey to get the exact birds I wanted (DNA-sexed and vaccinated) since our limitation is 5 hens/no roos in our neighborhood. We can't keep any accidental bird orders in our yard.

Aster the Meatbird Update

They did finally refund my money. It was an interesting conversation but in the end, they did the right thing.

I just can't see a meat bird being that slender of a build, nor that agile flying - it counters the whole point of 'meat bird'

I have used My Pet Chicken before and they have dealt very fairly with me.
