@RebeccaBoyd I agree on the pain. I know the ER said the nerves weren't exposed, but....also, does she have a hairline fracture? Under the circumstances, the school should be willing to make the schedule changes via a phone call. I'd be calling the office as soon as it's open (make sure you get a live person). They'll them you're calling to make sure Rosie gets her classes changed, but are getting her into the dentist this morning as the ER instructed.![]()
My heart goes out to you and Rosie. I am also worried she is in so much pain - are you sure there is no injury they missed in the ER?
If you file charges make sure you have photos of her injuries. Also the boy’s if he was injured.
Best thoughts for Rosie. I hope she can get something to calm her pain, it sounds like she could use a very strong pain killer for a day or two.Good morning everyone.
I have a long day ahead and I dread it. I need to have Rosie at her dentist as soon as they open. I am going to do what the ER said and just show up with her discharge papers and not try to make a appointment. I'm praying he can do something today. I'm also supposed to be at the high school this morning for a meeting. That can wait. I will go at some point, Rosie is very insistent that she HAS to be there for just a few minutes. Schedule changes are happening today and today only. She decided Thursday that she was keeping the gym class. She is going to use it as a study period. She talked to the teacher that taught creative writing last year. She is not teaching it this year, this year she is teaching AP Literature. Rosie is going to switch out the web design class and take it. She told her she will teach creative writing again next year so she will take it then. While we are there I will meet with the principal. I really dread waking her up in a few minutes so she can get ready. This is hurting her and each day that has went by the pain is worse. Yesterday it was hurting her by just breathing. I have not saw her in this much pain before and there is nothing I can do about it. She was not hurting this bad when she broke her collar bone and the subsequent surgery. Her best friend at the high school who came to the hospital came over Saturday evening. I had to work the horse show and my brother was on Rosie "babysitting" duty. Redhead as Rosie calls her came and joined her at the horse show and was on concussion symptom watch. The show did not end until 4 am so she ended up spending the night. She also has to meet with the principal as she was a witness. I talked to her and learned some more details. At first I was also extremely angry at the girls parents. Now I have learned she is in foster care. I have thought long and hard over the situation this weekend. I am sympathetic over her living situation, it has to be a hell that I cannot imagine. Sympathies aside, I have also had to care for my daughter. I have held her as she has screamed in pain with her mouth hurting. Fixing the damage done is also going to be painful. The front tooth is probably going to have to be pulled and a implant put in. I have heard nothing from the school since it happened, but then I really did not expect to. The boy reached out to check up on Rosie Saturday and yesterday. His family is filing charges. Alex did warn me it will not be a easy thing but now that my temper has calmed down, in my mind it is the right thing to do and I will be joining them.
She has turned really gorgeous! Are her food habit still up to her name ? I almost feel like she should be called something more glamorous now !Piglet posed for her mugshots so she could wish everyone a happy Mugshot Monday.

Rosie has this girl in her 7th period. The one thing she has stated is she does not want to be in a class with her at all.Best thoughts for Rosie. I hope she can get something to calm her pain, it sounds like she could use a very strong pain killer for a day or two.
If she gets days off school from medical prescription you should keep that as well.
How does she feel about what happened, and about you filing charges ? While I also believe it is the right thing to do, even in a complicated situation, Rosie and the boy that was the original target will probably be seeing this girl again frequently in school.
