i might try it again ~ but honestly at the price of pumpkins here I might just stick w/ sweet potatoes which the flock had today & loved it!
I feel the same way with water Mellon. Even in the summer it’s expensive here. Maybe I’ll grow some next year.

Meanwhile the four peaches I was able to salvage were a big hit with the gang.

Oh no! Does he have heart worm?!

I have used the puppy and kitten strength wormer you put on their skin on Mr P when I first got him for lice and worms - worked great and hey o didn’t kill him with the meds 😳 oh I laugh now but I was a wee bit worried at the time. But he was way too wild to handle frequently to treat.

Blooming expensive though.

Now I treat lice with horse fly spray, and ivermectin or Panacur for intestinal worms. More inexpensive!
No he did have a complex dental extraction and a pretty bad infection. I was told by a family member that I paid 3x what she did for her dog at a different vet though, so I'm not happy.

I will give you Ezzie as a example. Ezzie was a partridge. You will notice his color was the richest on his shoulders and back.

I believe the other chick that is more red in color will end up looking very similar to Ezzie as a adult. The one you are questioning I believe the body and base color will be what he is showing now. The shoulder wing area will will be richer and more vibrant. It may be red, probably will be red but it could also be a rich brown. He is a cutie.
Oh yay, Cocoa is the red-brown one. He's going to be a handsome lad. I'll be happy with however they grow up, gives them a chance at finding a home before the processing date. My cousin is working on her husband now about getting one, and I will make a post when I get an idea of who will be staying.

:rolleyes:What, pray tell, are all those things doing UNDER their perch??? Of course they would get pooped on in that spot!

And, of course they will poop after eating...some goes in, something must come out - the law of finite spaces!!!!:p
She flew up to the top of the bookcase in my office. My desk below was the perfect target, and she’s a fast redhead!

Yes, double frizzle matings are deadly. Only one mate can be a frizzle.

Your Georgie is definitely a gorgeous Moorhead Partridge ~ that's where the body is gold and the head, legs, & tail are deep black ~ probably the most striking partridge Silkie bred so far!

Clyde is such a sweetie & seems to be all Black Silkie unless you see any goldish speckled wing tips? (Any gold/speckled neck/wing feathers are classified "Dark" Partridge). Otherwise the gray/silver undercoat feathers you see under his black feathers is normal for a black Silkie.
