Kiddo got a good haul, she started off next door and guess what gramma and grampa gave her?

Spoiler: Her FIRST stop

Then we went into the nearest town and she got to see her other grandparents...in fact we parked at their house so she got treats from them twice!
We now have a crisper drawer full of candy, that'll be rationed out until at least Thanksgiving.

Morning all! I'm 34 today, and very happy that we all made it this far. Interestingly enough, I was actually not breathing when I was born and had to spend time in an incubator. But I pulled through and here we are!

Kiddo found some of her toy chickens (and a duck!) To talk to while she eats breakfast. I think this is about half of her total little chicken toys? They're her favorite.

We had the same number of Trick or Treaters that we had last year. And a decade ago.

Zero.

We've been here for 30 years, and nobody has braved the long walk back to our house... end of a dead end road.

It was VERY windy last night; the tree limbs whipping around, leaves flying everywhere. SPOOOOOOOKY!

We've been at the end of our cul-de-sac for almost 40 yrs. We were flooded w/Halloween treaters in the beginning but since the glut of criminal occurrences plus homeless problems in the last decade we've had zero treaters traffic. We stopped putting up decorations too. No one sends kids out after dark here.

Here is a blast from the past fluffy butt to wish you all a happy Friday.
This was the lovely Babs (RIP) who always had an impeccably fluffy butt even when laying eggs up in the rafters.
She came to mind today because there was a discussion of Dark Cornish and Babs was part Dark Cornish.

Reminds me that I forgot to add string cheese to my grocery list. Walmart didn’t have any salt free canned corn. And they were selling ears for $.98 cents ea. that’s crazy how much the cost of groceries is becoming. Last week canned corn was only $.50 cents a can. My feathered monsters can finish an ear of corn in less than five minutes
