She is 17 weeks old. Very soon she will be all grown up. I don't know how much bigger she is going to get. Here she is standing next to Sydney for comparison. She is significantly smaller.

It was 22C here today! With a humidex! I had to open the window in the Hen House. And they are not snuggling tonight that’s for sure.

Well, they currently have data on them. You need to reformat them so they can be used again. You put them in the computer and then use the DOS command line to reformat them. That erases the data and re-indexes the floppy disk so it is ready to accept new data.

Speaking of moulting - Rose started to moult last night. Prior to this I told her that I couldn’t wait for her to start moulting so I could get rid of those two tail feathers growing at an odd angle.

Seems she plucked them out before I could! She must have found them more annoying than I did for this past year!

Remember Glynda passed away from likely congestive heart failure.

Fluid can be in the lungs for reasons other than infection. If the ammonia content is real high it can cause damage to the lung tissue which results in fluid in the lungs as well.

I agree with closing off the coop until you can get proper ventilation.

If it's AI, you have to pray it doesn't take them all. There is nothing you can do to stop it.

I worry about it every time something respiratory comes along.

With AI I feel not just one would be ill at once. I am thinking along the lines you have, either a cardiovascular issue, or bacterial, though I have not seen bacterial issues act that fast.

Likely the wee lass had some unknown health issue - our chooks are just like us, they can be born with issues we don’t know about.
