Especially Cochins! :love
I think Henny is actually a cochin, she sure looks like one.

Cochins have straight combs and no beard or crest. Now, it's possible she's a silkie x cochin. The satin silkies HAVE to be a mix to get the regular feathers. She also has a red comb rather than the silkie black comb which is another indication of not pure silkie. However, figuring out what she's mixed with....

Hmmmm.... silkies are walnut combed which is RRPP so her comb is going to be either Rose or Pea depending upon which she gets from the silkie parent. Now, a silkie mix could still have a walnut comb if crossed with a bird with either a rose or a pea comb and the silkie parent gave them the opposite gene. If they got the same gene, they would show the same comb as the non-silkie parent. The only way a silkie mix could show a straight comb is if the silkie is only 1/4 silkie and the comb genes fell just right.

The beard and crest could (but not guaranteed) come from the silkie parent, but silkies can be bearded or not bearded, so figuring out Henny Penny is likely to need a genetics test (and hope the assorted breeds are in records).

I put an edit on my post:

She has 5 toes and black skin so likely a silkie x Cochin.

Either way she is built for cold weather not warm weather.

There’s a couple of things that tick me off:
- someone shooting bullets at me.
-unexpected car repair due to an accident caused by some idiot.
- rude ATC (air traffic controllers)
- under staffed restaurants
- anyone hurting my animals.
- lousy tenants who lie about themselves to gain my favor
- having to pay taxes on my properties (unbelievably costly)
- my friends accuse me of sleeping with my chooks.
- I make a great joke on here and fuentemoon just tags them as  only “like!” IMG_4870.jpeg :tongue
