She does like to play in the sawdust. If it is not raining chicken chores start tomorrow. I have to clean the coop, it has been 4 days. She can help me by "playing in the sawdust". By that I mean filling up the 5 gallon bucket full and dumping it in the coop once it is cleaned. We will see how she does as it will take about 6 buckets to bed it the way I like.Oooooo I can’t wait! I am hoping she looks like Henny who I think is half Cochin.
So will Vivvy be helping out with the chicken chores?![]()
Oh yes, orange feet.Oh she is adorable! Is that orange feet?!
Gosh those feathers sure look dark Brahma, but RM would know best.
She’s lovely! Bet she’s broody by February![]()
Welcome back.Bantam brahma
I made a roost maybe knee high and she doesn't even try to get on it. I've never seen her or any of our frizzles fly higher than about knee high. The rascals and all our Sebrights mixes get serious air when they want. Coco loves to make them fly, lol.And a hen lovely! I have a few escape artists. Two are moulting so they can’t fly over the fence now - the third has just started moulting.
Does your girl fly ? As a frizzle I am interested in how well they fly. Betty can fly upward about 4’, and she can flap hop across the grass about 10’. But she doesn’t get off the ground very high.
Pea comb and dark brahma coloring. You have a dark brahma there.Forget tomorrow. I took my headlamp out and got some pictures. Her voice is changing and she sounds like a goose so she is young. What do you all think, Brahma or Cochin? She has to be between 4 to 5 months as their is no sound of a chick peep so she is not a large fowl.
Also, excuse the coop, clean out day is tomorrow.

100% she is.Welcome back.
I really hope so. Brahma's have been on my short list for a looong time now.
I'm...kind of here. Thanks for all the sympathy, it's been devastating. Had a good long cry today because I got up, got my boots on, and was to the gate before my brain caught up to me that there's nobody to get up.
I think I'm most upset about losing Nyx. She had just started crouching for the boys, they still had no clue what to do about it but she was ready.
Hubby is telling me that I will have new birds in spring, he had already arranged hatching eggs for kiddo's birthday last week before everything happened.
We will clean, and disinfect, and replace the dirt, and put in anti-dig barriers...there's plenty to do now that it's empty.
