Wow, just gorgeous!

Not specialize, just really getting serious now about it. Up until now it's just put whatever we had in a huge breeding pen, and they do make some pretty ones.

Hubby is remodeling a 2nd Amish garden shed into four breeding pens. I hope to separate them out and do cuckoo, buffs, and paints.

There's this guy I'm not quite sure who to breed with yet. He's a frizzle, but like a split between a cuckoo and a splash. Maybe I should put him with both a black and a white hen?

As long as he's not bred w/another frizzle as that is lethal? It'll be cute to see what happens in his offspring ~ gorgeous fellow!

He's definitely got the V shape black/silver Cuckoo feather stripes. As for his Splash that's a result of BBS chart history.

Maybe don't cross him w/ any Gold or Buff or Partridge to keep his offspring White (silver) so there's no unwanted leaking gold in his offspring.

Maybe cross him w/ a Blue hen to create a Blue Cuckoo? Dunno :idunno~ just thinking out loud about keeping the offspring genetics in the BBS history ~ not sure what will happen w/the Cuckoo pattern if it will show strong or weaker w/a BBS hen ~ maybe stay away from a Splash hen to strengthen the Cuckoo pattern otherwise the Splash may override getting any Cuckoo?

Wow! You got me curious!

I don't breed so I'm not a genetic enthusiast. Rural mouse may have some good breeding suggestions? or one of the BYC genetic articles?

I have said it before -and again - he is just so adorable! I love his colouring, and a frizzle to boot. 🥰

My next rant:
Some homeless people have been using my church as a sleeping shelter outside of the buildings in the bushes, under the awnings. Some make a mess and others don’t. My responsibility is to keep the yards clean cut, the trash removed, bushes trimmed clean, and the junk left behind by the homeless removed. Now, I don’t know about you, but when I find a homeless man not alive anymore in his car parked on my church lot, I start to think about homeless, and drug use, I get a defensive attitude towards them. That church is my responsibility, my part time job is still important to me. Anyone who rolls the losing dice, have a situation, and can’t help themselves, can be homeless. I understand that 💔
Every time I show up, I give them 15 minutes to collect their belongings and leave the property. Then I pray for them and then I start my three hour work. And I work hard to make the yards and flora look nice.
Rant about over, 🤔 but I’m pretty sure I missed something.
Oh yah BFTP tax: View attachment 3995327
Down here a lot of churches, lodges, schools, are putting up iron bar fences around bldgs/property to keep out trespassers (chainlink is too flimsy as a security fence & easily cut open or climbed over). The Elks Lodge had trespassers using the outside water spigot & left water running so now the Elks Lodge uses a water lock. CalTrans here has been given the go-ahead to break up homeless groups & encampments which for several years was being ignored by govt agencies. Our Govrnor released 1000's of less offender prisoners during the Covid overcrowding scare but so did some other overcrowded states.

I suppose it's not like you can return your clothing to the former girlfriend. I wouldn't want your clothes back either. :gig

My tax for continuing this:

I've got four buff roosters, two with black on them. I've got to decide as I can't keep them all, but this one's my favorite. There's an older one a bit lighter than him.

Two similar to this: They aren't SOP with the black so suppose I shouldn't keep them, but they are beautiful to me!

Gorgeous boys ~ but yeah, as breeders those black-tailed Buffs aren't SOP but they are so sweet!

We've noticed some of our beautiful Silkies change feather colors w/every moult ~ some get lighter while others get darker ~ darnedest thing.
